What Are You Ready To Let Go Of?
Hello dear friends!
For those of you who follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you've probably noticed that I've recently started the 30-Day Minimalism Game. And if you aren't quite sure what that is, or where it came from, please check out the original post from the geniuses, also known as The Minimalists. (psst- they've also made a film, coming next month!)
Basically, this is a game to get you thinking about your stuff- how much you have, why you have it, and what your life would be like without it. Personally, I have found tremendous satisfaction and healing from choosing a more simple lifestyle, and I think it's one of the keys to helping you heal. So, I wanted to play this little game to re-ignite my own passion about minimalism, but also to share the fun with all of you!
If you want to play along, you can start whenever you want to (I started on April 1st)! The rules are simple: On day 1, you let go of 1 thing that you no longer need/want/use. On day 2, 2 things. On day three, toss out 3 things. It's even more awesome and inspiring when you can share this game with others, which is why I'm posting each day on social media, and using the hashtag #minsgame. I'm also going to update this blog post every few days, so we can all get a wide view of all the things I'm going to part with this month. I'm definitely interested in this aspect, because I've been purging a lot since my divorce last year, but I've never mindfully documented each item as it has left my possession! I'm going to make a guess right now that I'll look back, and not miss a thing...
Follow me through each day!
So, friends, are there things cluttering up your life that you are ready to sell/donate/recycle/pass along? Are you ready for your life to feel more spacious and free? Are you ready to stop spending so much time and energy on maintaining your stuff and your living space? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, it's time for you to play the minimalism game! Come on over and join the fun.
I can't wait to see how this game can change your life!
Post-game update: I cannot believe it's already over! And I definitely can't believe how easy this was for me- what does that say? I feel so much lighter and freer now, and I highly recommend this project for anyone and everyone! I can honestly say that I still feel like I could let go of more things than the 465 items that I released this last month, but I'm going to just chill for a bit and re-assess later. Thank you to everyone who followed me on social media and gave me encouragement throughout this game- it means the world! And it's been amazing following you all as well during your decluttering adventures!
And as always,
~ Hoping you feel as well as possible ~
